Lights and Lasers
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy and Broad Band Light (BBL) therapy, also known as photofacial, is a non-surgical treatment that improves the color and texture of your skin. By using light energy to target and remove damaged or pigmented skin cells, this gentle technique can be used anywhere on the face and body to correct an array of skin issues. The device used in an IPL or BBL treatment emits multiple wavelengths of broad-band, intense light into the skin and effectively targets pigment producing cells below the surface of the skin, as well as stimulating collagen and elastin growth. This is different from laser therapy as lasers emit only one wavelength of light and can not treat multiple issues in a single treatment. Lasers also cannot penetrate as deep as an IPL or BBL to treat issues under the skin that have not shown up on the surface yet.

Our EpiLift IPL/BBL treatment utilizes Elos technology, which adds radiofrequency capabilities in addition to broad-spectrum light, which increases the effectiveness and the range of conditions we can treat. Compared to other IPL/BBL technology, Boise Image Enhancement Centre’s EpiLift IPL/BBL can treat far more skin conditions, including pigmentation issues, melasma, and facial veins, as well as scarring and wrinkles with unique collage-building technology.

Skin Tightening with Ultrasound
UltherapyⓇ, or ultrasound therapy, stimulates collagen production by delivering focused ultrasound energy to the skin’s foundational layers that are typically addressed in cosmetic surgery – without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. This is a non-surgical treatment that counteracts the effects of gravity on your skin.
Ultherapy uses ultrasound (soundwaves) to make small, hot spots under the skin which trigger a natural response, jump-starting the regenerative process that produces fresh, new collagen. This causes the skin to contract and tighten and non-invasively lift the eyebrow, neck, jawline, and under the chin. UltherapyⓇ is the only non-invasive procedure specifically indicated by the FDA to improve lines and wrinkles on the chest. And all of this is accomplished with little to no downtime.
UltherapyⓇ treatments may be performed on all parts of the body, even those areas that have been difficult to tighten in the past.
Common Ultherapy treatment areas include: face (full face, brows, lower face, under the chin, jawline), neck, chest (decolletage), upper arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs and knees.

Laser Hair Removal
The Laser Hair Removal technology at Boise Image Enhancement Centre is considered generally painless for most patients. Many people say it feels like a tiny rubber band snapping against the skin. To offer the best experience for our patients, we have many comfort options for our patients, including Pro-Nox (also known as nitrous oxide or laughing gas).
The downtime with Laser Hair Removal is minimal. After treatment, you may have some redness around the treated area. Any redness typically goes away within 30 minutes and can be covered up with makeup, if needed.
Multiple treatments spaced apart by several weeks are often needed to get the “no razor” result that most are looking for. Depending on the area, laser hair removal can take up to a year of spaced-out treatments to damage the maximum number of hair follicles in the area.
Thins hair, lightens hair, and leaves skin silky smooth
Does not create in-growns or damage like waxing or sugaring
Safe for full face and body use, including bikini and Brazilian
Results are permanent and show after a few treatments
Ultrasound Therapy vs Light and Laser Treatments
Ultrasound therapy uses sound energy which allows it to pass through the surface of the skin to treat the foundational layers of the skin that other non-invasive cosmetic devices cannot reach. Ultrasound therapy stimulates collagen production in the skin’s foundation, resulting in a clinically significant lift of tissue over 2-6 months.
Lasers and lights rely on light energy, which cannot reach deeper skin layers at an optimal temperature, so laser treatments typically only treat superficial skin and are not FDA-cleared to lift skin. Light and laser treatments can help with pigmentation, redness, facial veins and fine lines while stimulating collagen growth in the upper layers of the skin. Since the two technologies often treat different types of skin issues, they’re actually very compatible.

Our EpiLift IPL Photofacial is specifically designed to reverse sun damage. Unfortunately, most sun damage is underneath the skin and is invisible to the naked eye, and many patients do not treat their sun damage until it is too late.
