Improve Lines & Wrinkles, Restore Volume
Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity and lifestyle.
There are different types of dermal fillers available to help restore volume in the face. The majority of dermal fillers contain a hyaluronic acid gel that is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. The role of hyaluronic acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding in water, and to act as a cushioning agent. Radiesse is the only dermal filler comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite, a mineral found in human teeth and bones, suspended in a water-based, gel-like solution. Over time, it stimulates your body’s own natural collagen which results in longer lasting results.

What Wrinkle Filler Is Right For Me?
With so many dermal fillers on the market, it can be difficult to know what option is best for you and it is best for you to discuss this with your provider at Boise Image Enhancement Centre, Inc. to make the correct choice. We offer many different fillers for different areas as each product is uniquely formulated to have a certain texture, density, and injection depth to help with all of your anti-aging needs.
This is not a surgical treatment. Treatment time with injectable gels can take 15-60 minutes, depending on which area of the face is being treated. You will see results immediately following the injections. Results may last 6 months to 2 years with optimal correction and depending on the dermal filler used.
Most dermal fillers contain pain-reducing lidocaine to help manage pain and discomfort during the injection. We offer other forms of pain reduction, such as ice and topical numbing cream to help reduce discomfort.
The most common side effects with dermal fillers include swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. These usually resolve in a few days to a few weeks.
For some patients, surgery, such as a face lift, brow lift or eye lift, may be the best approach.
Nonsurgical rejuvenation treatments, such as soft tissue fillers, cannot achieve the same results, but may help delay the time when consideration of a face lift becomes appropriate. It is important to remember that dermal fillers are temporary treatments for facial aging and that ongoing treatments will be needed for long-term results. Our medical professionals at Boise Image can guide you as to the best method for you.
