Put Your Best Look Forward
What Is A Facial?A facial is a spa therapy and massage that leaves your skin cleaner, softer, younger, and transformed. Facials can help clear clogged pores, quench parched skin and remove dead skin cells. Facials involve some massage which aids in blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. The facial massage helps relax facial muscles which can slow the onset of wrinkles on the face. Additional benefits include: skin cell renewal and a reduction in puffiness and sagging of the skin.
What Is A Chemical Peel?A chemical peel uses a chemical solution of one or more acids to improve the texture and tone of your skin by accelerating the removal of the damaged outer skin layers. This is another method of exfoliation to improve the overall appearance of your skin. This results in renewed, healthier looking skin and a more uniform complexion. The potential result of the chemical peel depends on the type of chemical, technique used, and your skin condition. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands. Sun exposure, acne or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred. Boise Image Enhancement offers many different types of superficial to deeper level chemical peels, such as Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, TCA, Jessner peels, and Kojic Acid peels that can help many different skin conditions for all skin types.

Chemical Peel Procedure Details
Any procedure or product that may increase your skin sensitivity (Retin A, Renova, Tretinoin) should be avoided before having a chemical peel. The treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes and the tolerance to the chemical peel used varies from patient to patient. Tingling, stinging or burning sensations are normal and expected reaction which usually subside within 5-10 minutes
Mild to moderate redness is expected after any type of chemical peel procedure. Most peels require 1-7 days of healing time. Some patients may experience light to moderate skin peeling depending on their skin condition and the type of chemical peel used. Makeup can usually be worn the next day.
Since the new, rejuvenated skin is more susceptible to sunburn, extra precautions should be taken to limit sun exposure for at least one week after the peel. Sunscreen with Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide with an SPF of 30 or higher is recommended. Chemical peels can be repeated every 3-4 weeks for any treatment series and multiple treatments may be required to achieve desired results.
Chemical peels regenerate new skin that is smoother and less wrinkled which results in younger looking skin. Results from chemical peels usually lasts 4-6 months depending on the number of treatments completed in a series and may last longer depending on how you take care of your skin after your treatment.
