Apple Cheek Filler: How to get the Perfect Cheek Filler Apple [2022]

Full, beautiful, round cheek apples are a sign of youth. Unfortunately as we age, the apples of our cheeks start to deflate and sag. Luckily, there are apple cheek fillers which can restore volume and create youthful, round cheeks just like we had once before. Hyaluronic acid cheek fillers and collagen-building fillers such as Radiesse can create gorgeous results that take years off of the face.

Learn how this procedure works, what types of fillers are used for cheek apples, and more.

Apple of Cheek Filler Treatment: Info

Filler in Cheeks can correct the Triangle of Aging

When many people look at an aged face, they don’t realize that a large portion of the aging they see is from lost facial volume–bone, fat, and tissue. It’s been scientifically proven that the face loses 1% of bone, fat, and tissue ever year.

Fortunately, there are ways to replace the volume lost in the face, especially in the cheeks.

Cheek apple filler replaces lost bone and fat in the cheeks and actually reverses the process of aging.

When we are young, we have The Triangle of Youth, where our faces are narrow on bottom and wider on top, with the cheeks being the widest part of the face.

But as we age, the Triangle of Youth flips into the Pyramid of Aging. Instead of being full on top and narrow on bottom, our faces start to lose volume and droop downwards. This creates the Pyramid of Aging.

Filler in the cheek apple restores your face from the Pyramid of Aging back into the Triangle of Youth. Cheek filler can even help areas below the cheeks gently lift and look more youthful.

Hyaluronic Acid Cheek Filler vs. Radiesse Cheek Filler

Hyaluronic acid cheek fillers (also known as HA cheek fillers) are commonly used for cheek apples. However, Radiesse, a calcium-based filler, can often deliver a better result when injected into the cheek.

Most dermal fillers on the market are made of a gel with hyaluronic acid inside. Hyaluronic acid is a popular choice for filler because it is the body’s natural moisturizer, and can be found in our joints as well as in our skin. Examples of HA fillers you may have heard of are the Juvéderm family, the Restylane family, and Belotero.

Hyaluronic acid has an incredible ability to bind to water. The exact amount of water a single HA molecule can attract is debated, but some say one molecule of hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. For this reason, hyaluronic acid is a great filler choice for many areas of the body, including the lips.

Not all fillers are created equal. Each filler has its own unique properties that make it act more like skin, fatty tissue, or bone. When it comes to resculpting the cheek apples, often we find that patients need a filler that provides more structure.

Radiesse is another gel-based filler, but instead of being full of hyaluronic acid, the gel in Radiesse suspends tiny spheres of calcium (calcium hydroxy apatate, to be exact). While different densities of HA fillers can act like skin or fatty tissue, the calcium spheres inside of Radiesse react more like bone when injected into the body.

When injected into the cheeks, the tiny spheres inside of Radiesse begin creating new strands of structural collagen over time. Unlike hyaluronic acid cheek fillers, this collagen-building process is unique to Radiesse. Not only does Radiesse create a beautiful cheek apple, but the collagen created from Radiesse injections can actually rebuild structure in the face, providing a gentle lift that can last longer than the volume from the filler. Another non-HA filler, Sculptra, can build structure as well, but we find that Radiesse provides the best result.

Apple Cheek Filler: Cost, Time

The cost for a bunny lines botox treatment varies from provider to provider. Since the area around the nose is small, the procedure itself uses only a small amount of botox compared to most standard botox treatments, and takes less than 15 minutes.

We recommend an hour-long appointment so one of our nurse injectors can give you a complimentary medical aging assessment that takes into account your needs, including your own mathematical equation to beauty and any other concerns outside of your bunny lines.

Since the bunny nose botox treatment takes less botox than a standard botox appointment, is recommended to get your nose wrinkles taken care of with a standard botox procedure (such as the “11” lines, crow’s feet, or the forehead) to maximize your appointment time.
